What Are The Most Up-To-Date Wallpaper Trends For The Year Ahead?
If you’re thinking about giving your home a makeover this year, you need to be aware of the most up-to-date wallpaper trends to keep your rooms looking innovative and fresh, and feeling contemporary. These are some of the top wallpaper trends for the year ahead that can turn your home into a stylish oasis.
1. Ombre Wallpaper
If you haven’t seen the ombre wallpaper trend yet, it’s time to take a closer look! This exciting gradient wallpaper is perfect for smaller rooms, accent walls, and for downstairs cloakrooms thanks to its stylish yet subtle look.
2. Faux Texture Wallpaper
Faux-textured walls have been popular for a while, with brick and concrete-style wallpapers having proved to be especially popular in industrial-chic kitchens. This year, though, the faux texture trend has expanded still further, with marble, wood, and panelling themes all creating the illusion of beautiful and unique surfaces. This trend is perfect for coordinating with existing real textures – try pairing a faux brick wall with a real wood floor, or faux wood panels with a velvet sofa.
3. Monochrome Wallpaper
Black and white has long been a popular colour combination in the home, and monochrome décor looks like it’s sticking around for the year ahead. A great partner to today’s Scandi décor styles, monochrome wallpapers also work wonderfully with bold colour accents in any room of the home.
4. Bold, Dark Wallpapers
There is a trend this year for bolder and more adventurous wallpapers, and one look that is set to be especially popular is the moody, dark trend. While dark paint colours have been cropping up in homes nationwide for some time, the next few years will see the rise of bold and dark wallpapers too. Inky blues, rich browns, and charcoal greys are the hot looks to go for.
5. Geometric Wallpaper
The retro prints of the 70s look likely to make a major comeback, with geometric wallpapers returning to our living rooms. Ultra-contemporary, these strong, abstract prints are bold, eye-catching, and dramatic – just perfect for the modern home.
6. Mural-Style Wallpaper
Wall murals featuring floral prints are a great way to create a feature wall in your living room. This striking look is set to have a major impact on interior design trends this year, and since wall murals tend to come in both traditional wallpapers and peel-and-stick removable designs, they’re good for homeowners and tenants alike.
7. Checkerboard Wallpaper
If you’ve spent time looking at TikTok videos, you’re bound to have noticed this wallpaper trend. Viral TikToks are dominating the latest home décor designs, and this look is already gaining a lot of momentum. Use colourful checkboard prints to cover your entire room if you’re feeling bold, or just a feature wall to create an eye-catching look.
8. Cottagecore Wallpaper
The Cottagecore interior décor trend has been creeping up on us over the past few years, and it’s set to branch out into wallpapers in the year ahead. A great way to create a rural, dainty look in any room of your home, this delicate floral look is ideal for covering entire spaces thanks to its natural, earthy tones.

London Youth work to improve the lives of young people in London, challenging them to become the best they can, and last year helped over 27,000 young people through their sports development, youth action and involvement, arts and outdoor education programmes and employment prospects. We feel strongly that all young people should have an opportunity to develop themselves, and so are delighted to be able to support London Youth in their work, providing young people with access to opportunities they might not otherwise have had, to learn new skills, to make a positive change in their communities and to shape the city they live in.
Glass Door helps homeless men and women in London through their large network of emergency shelters and support services. These winter shelters provide a warm welcome, food, safety and shelter for up to 170 people every night. Properly feels passionately about the issue of homelessness. That is why we are delighted that together with our clients we can assist Glass Door in their fantastic work to help some of the most marginalised people in society.
Families become homeless for reasons we can all identify with. We are concerned about people who are struggling to keep things together in our fast-paced world – and we care about those who have no support. We chose the Doorstep Homeless Family Project because they are passionate and effective yet they are a small team with limited funding. They provide homeless families, living in temporary accommodation in London, with access to services to secure the emotional and practical support they require to enjoy a better quality of life.
We need nature and nature needs us. We support The London Wildlife Trust because we share its concern for the environment. We want to ensure that we keep nature in mind as we work in the property market – and crucially, with people’s homes. We also want our employees to engage with nature and benefit from the wellbeing this brings. London Wildlife Trust cares for over 37 of London’s spaces, and their vision is: “a London alive with nature, where everyone can experience and enjoy wildlife”.
The level of customer service I received at Properly with Mariel and her team was frankly outstanding. It’s lovely when people genuinely care and go the extra mile which certainly they did. I couldn’t recommend them more highly, the most pleasurable property experience ever for me.
I was so pleased to be introduced to Properly. Mariel and Michael provide an excellent service that took the stress and hassle out of finding a tenant. They were a pleasure to deal with, efficient and fast. A marked difference from the hidden costs and poor communication often encountered from other high street estate agents. I would thoroughly recommend and happily use again!
Amazing people, responsive, honest, friendly and professional. Cannot fault them and the type of company, you will go back to again and again.
Mariel helped me sell my apartment in West London. She was always there when I needed her. Her advice was invaluable and made everything a whole lot easier. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
I was very impressed with the service I received. Communication throughout was very good. I have dealt with many agents, but the clear, concise and personable approach I received made Properly stand out. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
We had such an easy and stress free move. Michael helped us with all our questions and was quick to find out any answers to our questions. Would highly recommend.
Had Michael round for a valuation of our flat – very knowledgeable and friendly and wasn’t pushy at all. When it comes time to sell we’ll definitely be giving Properly a call!
I cannot recommend this estate agent enough. Michael and Mariel have been very good to us throughout the process and have made sure everything has been as smooth as possible. They have gone above and beyond to ensure everything was dealt with and in a timely manner too. A great experience throughout!
